Preparation

• 1). Put your hands under running warm water. Lather antibacterial soap in your hands and wash off thoroughly. Dry your hands on a towel.
  
  
• 2). Push your cuticles down using an orange stick. Do so gently as cuticles are fragile.
  
  
• 3). Match fake nail tips with the nails that you will put them on. Trim each nail tip to your desired length.
  
  
• 4). Apply a thin strip of professional nail glue at the bottom seam of the gel nail tip. Press it onto the top of your fingernail. Continue until you have applied a gel nail tip to each fingernail.
  
  
• 5). Run a nail buffer back and forth on the fingernails to rough up the surface and remove shine. Use your hands or a nail brush to take all the dust off of your nails.
  
  
• 6). Brush a primer on the nails. Use just a drop for each nail and avoid the cuticles.
  
  

Gel Application

• 1). Brush two drops of a thin layer of nail gel on your nails. Avoid getting the gel on the cuticles as that can cause the nails to lift.
  
  
• 2). Hold your hands so that your nails face the floor. Keep them there for 30 seconds.
  
  
• 3). Put your hands underneath a gel nail processing lamp. Hold the nails in place for 90 seconds.
  
  
• 4). Apply another thin coat of gel on your fingernails. Put them under the nail processing lamp to cure for 90 seconds, and then remove.
  
  
• 5). Wash your hands with warm water and soap. Continue with painting and decorating the nails as you wish.
