Second Birthday Themes
- Using the Disney theme is helpful if the child has a favorite character. Little girls tend to enjoy Princess themes, such as "Cinderella" or "Sleeping Beauty," while little boys are drawn to movies like "Cars" or "Toy Story." Party invites and decorations can be more creative, with a tiara decorating station or build your own toy station as options.
- Choosing a circus theme for a second birthday offers up some flexibillty. Guests could come in costume as their favorite circus animals or performers. Hire a clown to perform for the crowd, and foods like cotton candy, caramel apples, popcorn and funnel cakes are not allowed, they are required. Decorations need only be bright and colorful, similar to a clown's costume.
- Theming your party around Noah's Ark will ensure entertainment and constant stimulation for children and their parents. Petting zoos are an option for a birthday activity, and since Noah took only two of each animal on his ark, the number two will figure prominently in the day. Invitations and decorations can be animal themed, with "Animal Crossing" signs hung on the front door.
- Sesame Street-themed parties offer plenty of options for decorating or sending out invitations. Elmo is a favorite character for many children, as is Cookie Monster. The theme can be centered around one of several adorable characters or all of them as a whole. Games like "Pin the Cookie on Cookie" can be played and prizes could be rubber duckies, just like the one Ernie loves so much.
