How to Load Tractor Trailers
- 1). Load each pallet evenly with the heavier boxes on the bottom. Stack the pallets no more than six feet high. Once a pallet is loaded, wrap the entire pallet and its contents with shrink wrap. This will prevent contents from falling off the pallet.
- 2). Load pallets against the back wall of the trailer first, moving forward.
- 3). Load pallets side by side. Every second row, stretch two ratchet straps across the space, from one side wall of the trailer to the other side wall. Pull the straps tight so cargo is held in place. Stretch one strap high on the pallets and one strap low.
- 4). Place any loose items on top of the pallets or along with side against the walls, if possible.
- 5). Equipment too large for a pallet, can be strapped to the wall to ensure it does not move during transit.
