2005 Ford Truck Fluid Capacities
- The 2005 Ford F-150 offers three engine choices, therefore fluid capacities vary. A 4.2-liter V6 engine is standard; 4.6-liter and 5.4-liter V8 engines are optional.
- The V6 engine has a capacity of 6.1 quarts of 5W20 motor oil, with filter. The initial fill for the cooling system is 17.7 quarts and 14 quarts of 4R75W or 4R70W transmission fluid is required.
- The smaller of the two V8 engines has a capacity of 6.1 quarts of 5W20 motor oil, with filter. The cooling system requires an initial fill of 19.5 quarts of coolant and 14 quarts of 4R75W or 4R70W transmission fluid is required.
- This engine requires 5W20 motor oil, sufficient for all temperatures, with a capacity of 7 quarts with filter. Coolant required is 21 quarts for the initial fill. Transmission fluid, grade 4R70W or 4R75W is required, with 14 quarts required to fill the transmission.
