    Making a Triangular Prism

    • 1). Place the paper so the short edges are at the top and bottom of your work area. Using a ruler and a pencil, mark off 1/4 inch across the top and bottom of the page. With the remaining space, divide the page into three columns vertically and horizontally.

    • 2). Measure the halfway point of the middle squares on the two outer columns. Draw a straight line from the top-left corner of the middle square in the middle column to the midpoint you just drew on the left side of the paper. Draw a straight line from the bottom-left corner of the middle square to the same midpoint making a triangle. Repeat on the other side.

    • 3). Lightly draw a line 1/4 inch outside but parallel to the middle column on both sides. Taper the ends to the top and bottom corners of the middle column to make tabs. On the bottom of the column, make a tapered tab for that edge.

    • 4). Cut out the middle column, including the tabs and triangles in the middle. You should have what looks like a cross with pointed ends in the middle.

    • 5). Fold the top square along the line down toward the middle. Fold the bottom square upward toward the middle on the line you drew in step one. Fold the two triangles upward toward the middle.

    • 6). Bend the tabs you drew in step three toward the center and inward. Glue the outside of the tabs, and pull the prism together, holding it all together until the glue dries.
