Decorating Ideas With a Wood Chair in the Bathroom

    Vanity

    • One of the most common ways to incorporate a wooden chair in your bathroom is to pair it with a vanity to create an area for applying makeup or styling hair. If your bathroom is large enough, you can place a freestanding vanity table in the room and use a matching chair to create a polished look. However, if you’re short on space but have a long counter beside your sink, create your own vanity table by removing the shelving or drawers so you can fit a wooden chair. To give the chair a feminine look, paint it in a soft color that matches the rest of your bathroom decor. You can also add a decorative cushion or skirt made from a luxurious fabric like silk or satin.

    Bath Accessories

    • A wooden chair can also serve as a small table for your bathroom. If you enjoy taking baths, you can place it beside your tub to hold bath soaps, oils and beads so they’re always within easy reach. You can also use the chair to hold candles or a glass of your favorite beverage while you soak in the tub. If you’re not a fan of baths, place your chair in the corner of the room to hold a radio, clock or other small appliances that can’t get wet.

    Plant Stand

    • Adding plants to your bathroom is one way to bring color and texture into the space. A wooden chair makes an ideal plant stand because you can place all of your plants on the chair seat to create a concentrated grouping that gives the display maximum impact. Paint the chair to match the room decor – you can even stencil on a design on the chair’s backrest to give it a more decorative appearance. A leaf design and a flower pattern are some options.

    Shelf

    • If your bathroom is short on storage space, you can also use a wooden chair to create simple but effective shelving. Simply mount the chair to the wall, and use the seat as a shelf for shampoo, conditioner and body wash or as a display area for vases, candles or other knickknacks. You can also cut the legs off a slatted back chair and mount it to the wall upside-down. The bottom of the seat serves as the shelf, while the slats are an ideal spot for hanging towels and washcloths.
