  If there's one thing Maryland is known for, it would be its seafood. Because of Maryland's location along the Chesapeake Bay, restaurants throughout the state are able to serve fresh crab and seafood in many, of not all, months of the year.
  
  

Mike's Crab House

• Mike's Crab House, originally founded in 1958, is located along the bank of Maryland's South River, in Riva. The restaurant, open daily from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., was voted "Best Crabhouse" in 2009 by the local Bay Weekly magazine. Patrons can choose to dine indoors or outdoors, and free docking is available for boaters. The crab house also features an upstairs room, complete with a full bar, that is available for private events for between 75 and 180 people. Several different banquet and private event menus are available.

Bethesda Crab House

• The family owned and operated Bethesda Crab House is open 365 days a year from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Diners can opt to enjoy their meal inside in the casual restaurant or outside on the covered patio, or can call ahead for take-out orders. The menu includes a standard variety of crabs from the Chesapeake Bay, crab cakes and spiced shrimp. Catering for corporate or private events is available.

Harris Crab House

• Because of the restaurant's location along the Chesapeake Bay, Harris Crab House diners can choose to eat their seafood outside, weather permitting, looking right out over the bay, or inside in a more traditional restaurant setting. Harris Crab House features a varied menu of seafood dishes including soft crab, crab nuggets, and crab imperial, in addition to many different soup, salad, sandwich, and entree options. It can accommodate private parties of up to 150 people in one of its banquet rooms.
