There is one thing that seems to be commonly neglected among people who seem to have a hard time making any gains.
It is not your diet, but this is a big factor in gaining muscle, nor is it your routine.
Both tend to be spot on but you still have a problem building any muscle.
The answer is usually right in front of your face.
The truth is you need rest and recovery.
I mean adequate time for your body to recover fully from the rigorous routine you put it through.
You might think you rest long enough but you probably are not.
You need to be sure you are getting enough sleep, I am talking 8 hours of good sleep.
Especially after a hard workout.
Without this rest time your body can not fully recover from the damage you did to it.
Yes it is important that you go to the gym three to four times a week.
But not three or even two times in a row.
Sure sometimes there are ways around it but you are just going to end up doing more harm than good.
You need to learn to relax, there is a reason some of the nicer gyms of hot tubs and massage therapists.
You need to relax and let your body recover.
So, next time, spend an extra fifteen minutes and chill out in the hot tub for a while.
Once you are adequately recovered your body will be more prepared to take on the tougher challenges and in turn will grow muscle faster than before.
Why would you complain about getting plenty of rest and gaining muscle, I know I would not.
