How to Get Whipped Icing Out of Clothes

    • 1). Blot the stain with a dry white cotton cloth, after you scrape off any large pieces of whipping icing from your clothes. A clean kitchen towel or cloth napkin is ideal for this job.

    • 2). Sprinkle the entire stain with cornstarch. Wait 15 minutes, and scrape off with a dull knife or spoon. The cornstarch will soak up oily stains such as whipped icing, which usually is made from cream or butter.

    • 3). Dab the stain with a cold damp cloth. Do not press into the stain. Try to dab off any excess cornstarch and stain. Remove the item of clothing.

    • 4). Place detergent on the stained area, and soak it in a sink with cold water. If your clothing label says "dry clean only," test a less visible area first before soaking and then use mild detergent. Soak the garment for a few hours.

    • 5). Wash the stain out in your sink by gently rubbing the fabric in circular motions. If your clothing is light-colored, add 1/4 cup of white vinegar to the sink water. Vinegar should cut through the grease and lighten the stain. Wait 1 hour to be sure not to bleach your clothing.

    • 6). Rinse the stained clothes. If the stain is still present, mix 1/8 cup of oxygen-based, colorfast bleach with water in your sink. Add your stained clothing, and move the garment around in the mixture. Leave it overnight.

    • 7). Rinse out the garment twice, and allow it to air dry. Or launder it as usual.
