    Online Resources

    • The first line of attack with a troublesome iPod is Apple's online Troubleshooting Assistant, which guides you through "the Five Rs:" Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall and Restore. These are often enough to resolve common issues. Apple's website also offers discussion boards and a wide range of searchable documentation to help you identify and hopefully address problems yourself.

    Phone Support

    • For the first 90 days after purchase (or longer, with optional AppleCare plans), iPod owners are entitled to one free phone support session. Call 800-275-2273 from the United States for iPod phone support.

    Apple Stores

    • Each Apple Store contains a "Genius Bar," where support is provided for any Apple product, wherever it was purchased. Apple Stores, however, are extremely busy, attracting 75 million visitors in just three months in 2010. Therefore, it is strongly advisable to make a reservation online before you go. If there is no Apple Store within reach, the company also has a network of third-party Authorized Service Providers that may be able to help.
