How to Decorate a Black Sofa With Turquoise Accents
- 1). Arrange turquoise throw pillows on the sofa. Select throw pillows that work with the theme of the room. For example, in a formal, contemporary room, choose throw pillows that are covered with satin or velvet turquoise material, or a combination of the two. For a beach inspired room, select throw pillows made of brushed cotton or pillows that feature turquoise beach themed patterns, such as turquoise shells. Arrange the pillows in one or both of the corners of the sofa or place them in a line across the top back of the sofa.
- 2). Display a turquoise blanket on the sofa. As with the pillows, choose a blanket that works with the design of the room. For instance, in a modern room, choose a satin or chenille blanket and in a beach themed room, select a woven or cotton blanket. Haphazardly drape the blanket on the sofa, either across the back, on the arm or in one of the corners. Another option is to fold the blanket in half and hang it over the back of the sofa or fold it in thirds and hang it over one of the arms of the sofa.
- 3). Add turquoise accents around the sofa. Display pictures around the sofa that feature the color turquoise; turquoise geometric prints or splatter paintings or pictures of turquoise seas. Hang a picture above the sofa and place pictures on tables next to the sofa. Set decorative vases on side tables next to the sofa. Place turquoise lampshades on lamps next to the sofa. Set out an arrangement of turquoise candles on a tray and place it on a coffee table in front of the sofa. Fill a clear glass bowl with turquoise marbles or sea glass and set it on the coffee table.
