How to Safely Clean Deposits From Contact Lenses
- 1). Wash your hands with lotion-free soap, and dry them thoroughly on a lint-free towel.
- 2). Place one contact lens in the palm of your hand, and rinse it with cleaning solution.
- 3). Rub the lens gently with your finger for 20 seconds, or for the length of time specified on the solution bottle. Even if you use a no-rub solution, the FDA recommends rubbing the contacts to remove any buildup or protein deposits.
- 4). Rinse the contact lens thoroughly with solution.
- 5). Place the lens in a clean, empty case, and cover it with fresh solution. Repeat the cleaning process with the other contact lens.
