Hi, I'm Kelly Dolan from Wildyarns.com in Denver, Colorado. I'm going to talk to you about the length and width of a knitted scarf. Scarves come in a variety of sizes. If you're knitting an average size scarf, you want to knit it about four to six inches wide, and you want the length to be just shorter than the person is tall. If the person is going to wrap the scarf around their neck several times, making it a little longer would be helpful to them. You can also knit a shorter scarf, often called a neck warmer. The thing that you need to keep in mind for a neck warmer is fastening it into place. I have two options for you. My first option is a shawl pin. It holds it into place without having a sharp end that will damage the fibers. Equally useful and it won't damage the fibers that much is a broach. And that's what you need to know about length and width for a knitted scarf. I'm Kelly Dolan from Wildyarns.com in Denver, Colorado. Thank you for joining me and happy knitting.
