Garlands

• A garland is a classic and elegant way to decorate windows with greenery. Create a garland by attaching individual branches of cedar or other greenery together with floral wire or tape and then drape the garland across a window. Arrange it so it hangs in gentle loops or use it to outline the window frame. Attach the garland to the frame with a staple gun or nails. Add red bows or a strand of lights for a festive holiday look or pinecones for a more rustic, country feel.
  
  

Greenery Nests

• Line an indoor windowsill with real greenery or aromatic cedar; your home will smell pleasantly like a forest. Use pruning shears to cut the branches down to a size where they will fit comfortably on your windowsill. Arrange them in a nest shape and set pillar candles among the branches. Light them at night to guide guests to your home or to create a cozy, warm ambiance. Be sure to keep the branches out of reach of the flames and remove the branches when they become too dry.
  
  

Small Trees

• Cedar and other coniferous evergreens can be grown in containers. Line an outdoor window box with potted greenery for an attractive display that will last year-round. Place seasonal flowers in between the potted greenery to change the look as the months pass. Add lights and ribbons during the holidays.
  
  

Swags and Wreaths

• Swags and wreaths are easy ways to use greenery in window decorating. Create a wreath with cedar and pine branches by attaching them to a wire frame with floral wire or tape. Add nuts, ribbons, pinecones and other items of your choice. Hang a small wreath in the center of each window on the front of your house. Or create a swag instead of a wreath. Layer cedar on top of pine or fir branches and fasten them together with floral wire. Then add decorative items of your choice and hang it over your window.
