If you are struggling to get a good night sleep, and you find yourself waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep then you are suffering from something that millions of people go through, insomnia.
There isn't anything that is comfortable about missing sleep, it tends to make you a little crazy, and it hurts your performance in almost all aspects of your life.
Although the market is flooded with drug store cures and potions that are designed to help you sleep, they really don't give you what could be called a good night's sleep.
They may help you to be unconscious during the night, but it is a drug induced sleep, and you tend to wake feeling groggy and perhaps foggy headed throughout the day.
Here are some home insomnia remedies that may help you to get that good night's sleep that you have been chasing.
One of the things that most people do not do that suffer from a problem with insomnia is get ready for bed.
Oh sure, they might get dressed for bed and go through the motions but what they are lacking is the real relaxation before bedtime.
Some of the things that you can do to help yourself prepare for a good nights sleep is to find a calm, quiet, and dimly lit corner of the house.
Candles are fantastic, but you better make sure that they are in a safe place in case you fall asleep.
Then turn off the TV (and take it out of the bedroom altogether) and listen to some light, relaxing music or perhaps some nature sounds.
Try to keep your thoughts light and free from worry, there will be plenty of time to worry about things when the sun comes up.
Drink some hot herbal tea if you are not allergic, and let the sleep come naturally.
