How to Build a "WoW" Aggro tank
- 1). Invest points in to your class's respective tanking tree. The tanking tree for warriors is "Protection." The tanking tree for death knights is "Blood." The tanking tree for paladins is "Protection." And, the tanking tree for Druids is "Feral." Exactly how you spend your talent points is up to you, but you'll want to place points into defensive talents. You must place points into the talent that reduces critical strike rating by 6 percent, such as Bastion of Defense for warriors and Sanctuary for paladins.
- 2). Acquire gear that focuses on stamina, mastery, dodge and parry. You'll also want gear that gives enough bonus to hit rating and expertise so that you can reach an 8 percent hit rating and a 26 expertise rating. Avoid sacrificing stamina on your gear; it's the most important stat to a tank.
- 3). Socket your applicable items with stamina, mastery and avoidance gems. If you don't have a lot of stamina from gear, focus on stamina gems. Otherwise, a healthy balance is best.
- 4). Purchase glyphs that augment your most used tanking abilities and skills. For example, the Devastate and Shield Slam glyphs are important for a warrior tank, while the Hammer of Righteousness and the Shield of Righteousness glyphs are important for paladin tanks.
- 5). Reforge your gear to strengthen your tanking stats. Reforging is the process of taking 40 percent of one stat and transferring that stat bonus to a different stat bonus. For example, you can take 40 percent of 70 critical strike rating and transfer the bonus to stamina, so you would have 28 more stamina. If you have any worthless tank bonuses on your gear, such as critical strike rating, always reforge your gear to increase other stats.
