How to Tie a Slip Weight
- 1). Select the slip weight you will use. It should be heavy enough to keep your rig in contact with the bottom.
- 2). Thread a slip weight onto the end of a fishing line. If you are using a bullet-shaped slip weight, the narrow end should face upward. If you are using a walking sinker, the front of the sinker should face the hook.
- 3). Tie a hook to the end of the line if you are fishing for bass. If you are fishing for walleyes, tie a barrel swivel to the end of the line. In both cases, a Palomar knot (see Resources) works well.
