Side Effects of Taxotere
- Low white blood cell counts and anemia are the most common serious side effects. Other less common serious reactions include sepsis, severe skin disorders, congestive heart failure and gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Taxotere can cause nausea and vomiting, temporary hair loss, fatigue, diarrhea or constipation, loss of appetite, sores or white patches inside the mouth and fingernail or toenail changes.
- Patients taking Taxotere cannot receive "live" vaccines as dangerous interactions can occur. Certain antibiotics, including cyclosporin and erythromycin may interfere with the effectiveness of Taxotere.
- Patients with liver disease, congestive heart failure or fluid retention problems may need additional testing to determine the safest dose of Taxotere. This medication may cause harm to an unborn baby.
- Signs of potential overdose may include fever, chills, numbness, body aches or pain and flu-like symptoms. Get help immediately if you feel you've been given too much medication.
