How to Remove the Deck on Craftsman Lawn Tractor
- 1). Disconnect the spark plug wire and remove the mower's key from the ignition to ensure the mower doesn't start accidentally while you're servicing it. Put the attachment clutch in the disengaged position.
- 2). Lower the mower deck by pushing the attachment lift lever forward. Remove the deck belt from the engine pulley. Detach the retainer spring from the mower deck, which will disconnect the clutch rod from the clutch lever.
- 3). Disconnect the retainer spring from the deck, which will enable you to remove the anti-sway bar from the chassis bracket. Release the suspension arms from brackets on the rear deck, and detach the deck's front links.
- 4). Lift the suspension arms by raising the lift lever. Push the deck out from beneath the mower.
