    • 1). Identify the orchardgrass you wish to eliminate. Orchardgrass is taller grass with thicker stems and sometimes has a fluffy wheat-like stem at the top of the grass blade.

    • 2). Fill your spray bottle with white vinegar that has not been diluted and set your spray bottle nozzle to open. Expect to use 2 cups of white vinegar for every 1 square foot patch of orchardgrass.

    • 3). Saturate the orchardgrass with the spray. By using a spray bottle, you are able to target the orchardgrass directly. A small amount of vinegar will not kill other grass in your lawn, but be careful to saturate only the orchardgrass.

    • 4). Do not rinse after spraying. The orchardgrass will begin to dry up within 30 minutes and should be dead within 48 hours of application. If your orchardgrass does not die within 48 hours, repeat the process.
