It"s Not About Herpes
It's not about herpes at all.
It's about who you truly are that herpes blocks from being.
If you let it, that is.
Herpes too often is seen as an obstacle to living a full, beautiful life.
And nothing breaks my heart more than to see people really convince themselves of just that.
Do you believe that no one will love you? Because of herpes? Do you believe that your dreams are just a bit further away from being realized? Because of herpes? The only reason we are having this herpes conversation at all is because you know there is something worthwhile inside you.
And it hurts like hell to think that now it's somehow "too late.
" But is that even close to being true? There's something powerful inside you that is fighting to get out.
And herpes ain't it.
It's just beneath herpes.
It's being shoved down deeper into your being, and herpes is the cork that's holding it in.
All to often herpes sufferers hold themselves back for so long that their true potential is blocked from being.
This potential is so big...
it keeps growing, so it gets pressurized.
But just imagine that once we uncork that bottle...
What's possible then? So where do we begin? We begin with our own beliefs, about ourselves and our own potential.
What if instead of herpes being an obstacle, it's only a hurdle toward living your ultimate life? A hurdle that once cleared proves to us that we are strong and capable.
I'll hand it to herpes.
It does one thing very, very well: It raises personal awareness.
It creates acute, hyper-sensitive awareness.
That's why at first it is so painful.
It causes you to get real about your own beliefs that orbit your true self.
And by seeing the beliefs for what they really are, your core is easier to see.
It causes us to get more real.
How does herpes cause us to get real in our lives? This acute sense of awareness can feel overwhelming at first.
We are aware of all of those self-defeating thoughts that began as whispers and now shout at us, reverberating off the insides of our skulls: "You will never find true love.
You're disgusting.
You will fail.
" Your voices might say different things, but they have a similar message: that you aren't okay the way you are.
But this hyper-awareness does something amazing.
These voices are clearly wrong.
They are fear-based; they are shame-based.
And by hearing these voices so much louder than before, we are in a better position to recognize them as false.
After seeing so many self-defeating thoughts as false allows the actual truth to start taking shape.
We begin to consciously course-correct in our self-defeating way of thinking.
So allowing this hyper-awareness to pervade us allows us to get real about our lives and how we truly feel about ourselves.
In the end, it's not about herpes at all, but seeing what herpes has been overshadowing: Your true gifts.
It's about who you truly are that herpes blocks from being.
