What Is a MagicBand?

This colorful wrist-band is Disney's way of connecting all the vacation choices guests make online at MyDisneyExperience.com, which is a component of the newly rolled out MyMagic+ experience. MagicBands are included in Disney resort hotels guests’ stays and will eventually be available to all guests at the theme parks to purchase for less than $15 when MyMagic+ is fully operational.

MagicBands are used in place of plastic room keys and theme park tickets. They also keep reservation information, including FastPass+ and dining choices.

When you make your online reservations, you may choose the color of a MagicBand for each member of your family and have names or nicknames engraved inside.

What Does My MagicBand Do?

MagicBands allow Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests to:

• Enter Disney a resort hotel room.
• Enter Disney World theme and water parks.
• Buy food pre-purchased through Disney's Dining Plan and make dining reservations.
• Buy merchandise and have it charged to and delivered to your room.
• Provides FastPass+ access to selected experiences, including dining, attractions, parades, shows and character meet and greets.
• Connects guests to Disney’s PhotoPass.

How Safe are MagicBands?

MagicBands are as safe or safer than the old plastic room key. MagicBands do not actually store your information. Instead, when waved in front of special electronic readers, they access an encrypted database of your stored information with a randomly assigned code that securely links to your Disney resort hotel room, entrance into the theme parks and your reservations for dining, attractions, parades, shows and character meet and greets.

MagicBands can be disabled if lost. If guests prefer, an RF-enabled card instead of a MagicBand is available without additional cost.
