Internet Business Success - Why Competition Isn"t Important
If competition was a major factor when deciding to open an online business then no-one would ever open up another Internet business.
You see, no matter what niche you choose, there'll always be competition.
You hear people say that you need to look at the competition before you decide to open a blog or website in that niche, and if the competition is too strong, then go and find another less-competitive niche.
I believe they are saying that when it comes to only SEO as your marketing technique.
In other words, if you wanted to open a site about weight loss, and these SEO consultants saw how competitive it is to get onto Google's first page with the term 'weight loss' they will tell you that this niche is far too crowded.
But what if your passion is helping people with weight loss? What if your sole purpose was coming onto the Internet to teach people how to lose weight, and then some SEO guide said "sorry, no - too competitive", what would you do? Go away and find a tiny obscure niche on eskimo knitting! Of course not.
The whole Internet doesn't revolve around Google and it's first page ranking.
I know a young lady who has done very well selling her weight loss book and has never thought of the over-crowded niche, and more importantly, has never even contemplated on being on Google's first page.
She disregarded the 'noise' and made herself an expert in the weight loss field within EzineArticles.
com.
She has written hundreds of very useful articles on weight loss and directed her article links back to her weight loss site where she sells her book.
So the moral of this little story is that you can become successful in any niche you want.
All you have to do is make yourself a known expert in your chosen field and try different marketing techniques to brand yourself and get your message across to others.
