Menopause Doesn"t Need to Be a Horrible Experience, It Can Be a Journey Full of Wonder

There are a lot of natural remedies that can help you reduce the symptoms of Menopause.
However, what I found was most helpful was understanding the process.
Sure I took herbs to relieve the hot flashes and the irritability and they helped but as "we are what we think", I found the best way to handle the changes was to understand them.
Our bodies are just a way of our inner wisdom talking to us and letting us know what we need to address in our lives.
I see a lot of emphasis placed on identifying the symptoms and all the adverse affects Menopause can have on a woman but not much about why is all this happening and what are the benefits.
Benefits? Yes you read correctly, I said benefits.
I guess I can only write this with authority because I am a woman (how can a guy really understand women's issues?) and I have been through it.
There's nothing like sharing with someone who has been through the experience your are now encountering, in my opinion.
I have found the following benefits from my journey through Menopause.
  • A greater awareness of my body - I better understand the massages my body sends me.
I believe our bodies' wellbeing is the reflection of our totally mental, spiritual and physical wellbeing.
Therefore, un-wellness and dis-ease just means we are out of balance with our inner, soul self.
Looking at what is happening to our bodies and changing our thoughts and beliefs will change the un-aligned energy of our body into a more aligned state and wellness will return.
  • More compassion for myself - I don't expect myself to be Superwoman.
I have become more comfortable with using boundaries in my life and that has helped to improve all my relationships, not only my relationship with me.
  • A more peaceful approach to life - I no longer sweat the small stuff (no pun intended) I find it easier to let irritations slide and come back into a balanced into a more peaceful state.
  • I have a greater acceptance of my body - no longer expecting it to do what I did at 20 but love what I can do and love seeing it increase its strength and flexibility.
  • Sex is more fulfilling - I have found new degrees of intimacy and even though in the middle of Menopause I found sex uncomfortable and unpleasant, I now love and enjoy a more complete sex life.
  • My creativity has exploded - I have found my voice through writing, something I had only done on a small scale previously in school.
My friend's creativity has blossomed in other ways but mine has shown up in writing.
  • My spiritual awareness has grown exponentially as has my ability to affect spiritual healings - I had been on a spiritual journey for over 20 years but now my understanding and abilities have reached new peaks.
    It is so incredibly rewarding.
In short I like myself a lot more after addressing certain issues in my life that Menopause shone a light on and am living a much happier and fulfilling life.
Don't let the idea of Menopause frighten you as it did me initially, let it unfold and show you all the things you can adjust so you can live a more complete life.
