Jockey is the black build up on leather that forms under metal fittings and under the stirrup leathers and billet straps on English saddles and cinch straps on western saddles. Anywhere leather or metal rubs against leather, jockey can form. Jockey takes a little extra effort to remove when cleaning saddles or bridles.
