My Two Favourite Horse Supplements
In this article I would like to talk with you about my two favourite horse supplements that I have been using over the last two years.
I have noticed that a lot of aspiring horse riders have no clue on where to start when it comes to supplements simply because there are so many different types of supplements to choose from...
There are feed balancers for veteran horses or feed balancers for competitive horses, joint supplements, garlic supplements, horse calmers, coat shine supplements and etc.
Keeping things basic.
When it comes to horse supplements you want to keep things basics.
Way to many people who get into horse riding think that the more supplements they give to their horse, the better it will be, when in reality oversupplementing your horse's diet with supplements can lead to loss of condition, weight gain and even lameness! High quality feed balancer The first and probably the single most important supplement that you can possibly buy is high quality feed balancer that is packed with all of the essential vitamins, minerals and other miconutrients that your horse needs to be in top condition.
What specific ingredients you should look for? Well, first of all they should contain something that aids horse's digestion.
Specifically I'm talking about probiotics and prebiotics, because these two ingredients will allow your horse to maximise nutrient uptake from its current diet.
In addition to this you should also look for feed balancers that contain soya and linseed oil.
It has been proven and tested by thousands of horse riders world wide that these two oils when combined with zinc ensure healthy, scurf-free skin and a glossy, gleaming coat.
In addition to this you should also look for formulas that contain biotin, because it stimulates healthy hoof growth.
Joint supplement In addition to feed balancers you should also be on the lookout for high quality joint supplements.
If you have been riding horses for some time now you have probably noticed that joint and bone problems are very common amongst horses.
Almost every horse rider has or once had a horse who had serious bone or joint problems.
So what can you do to prevent such problems from occurying in the first place or at least minimise the chance of your horse developing such problems? Supplement your horse's diet with high quality joint supplements! High quality joint supplements contain active ingredients such as Glucosamine HCL and MSM which are proven to aid in the renewal of connective tissue in and around the joint, aid in the renewal of synovial fluid, aids in regeneration of tendons and many other great benefits.
