How to Prevent VLC From Caching
- 1). Open VLC and click "Tools."
- 2). Click "Preferences" and select the "All" radio button in the lower-left corner of the dialog box.
- 3). Click the drop-down arrow next to "Video" in the left-hand menu.
- 4). Select "Subtitles/OSD" and select "Dummy Font Renderer Module" from the text-rendering module drop-down menu.
- 5). Click "Save" to apply your changes. The next time you start VLC you will not have to wait for the font cache to rebuild.
