Quito Churches and Slavery of the Past

The Spanish Catholics who erected the Quito churches among others remain repeatedly maligned for slavery practices and accused of "forcing" Catholicism on inhabitants of newly discovered lands.
The fact slips their minds that human offerings to false gods among natives in many lands ruled the times especially children and virgins...
tossing them into live volcanoes.
The fact that slavery commonly took place among those who thought themselves superior to others, including all Europeans, Egyptians and perhaps others.
Scripture witnesses the slavery of the Jews to the Egyptians from which God set them free from cruel slavemasters.
Blacks carry emotional scars from the same.
Forgotten in the minds of today, slaves performed a function that technology took over--thank God! Christ did not abolish slavery because it had its function.
He went to the extreme to to set us free from our slavery to sin and to teach us the Great Commandment - LOVE.
He said, "Slaves, obey your masters," and "Masters, be kind to your slaves.
" He commanded respect with love.
Where is respect today? Do our young even recognize it? Ecuador remains mostly Catholic because those who follow its teachings recognize respect, truth and the value in self sacrifice.
Will all this erode with the learning of new technology and the "freedom" of the "first" world? The "freedom" that comes from sacrificing the unborn children for "free" sex, comfort and convenience remains a recipe for disaster.
Slavery for sex is alive and well.
Just ask any victim girl who has been brought into the U.
S.
for the same.
Who speaks up against it? Bottom line - today's slavery and sacrifice serve no function...
they so eerily remind us of pre-Catholic times and should be abolished.
