Biosphere Reserve of Rio Platano
Arranged in the Mosquita area of north-east Honduras, the site includes a sash of roughly 15 km by 150 km which broadens inland from Laguna de Ibans and Laguna de Brus on the Caribbean drift in a south-westerly heading. The seaside towns of Palacios and Brus Laguna lie more or less 5 km from the recreation center limits on either side of the store.
The store secures basically the whole watershed of the 100 km long Pltano River, and also significant bits of the Paulaya, Guampu and Sicre waterways.
