The Importance Of Spare Part Extraction In The Car Dismantling Industry

The foremost reason behind that of the dismantling of cars is to extract its working parts. At the end of their working life, the vehicles do not have much use left. To prevent it from taking unnecessary place, to prevent the metal parts from destroying the environment and to prevent the working car parts from falling into disrepair. The truth of the matter is that even when cars are completely damaged, the scrap still work. As a result, these are still valuable and fetch a good price in the market. It will not come as a surprise that first hand car scrap cost a fortune. In such an environment people naturally are interested in getting items which cost a little less. The fact that these are second hand or are used becomes secondary since a lot of money stands to be saved from such a purchase.

A car dismantling yard is known in the industry by various names such as auto dismantling yard, car spare scrap supplier, wrecking yard and much more. The industry developed in the previous few decades when the number of cars bought increased surprisingly. Today the technologies used in the facilities are naturally more modern. For instance, machines known as car crushers have come to use in order to dispose of as many cars as possible within a minimum time.

At least fifteen million cars are dismantled in the US alone when they reach the end of their working life. However, the vehicles still provide one last service: that of providing working spare car parts. After the parts are extracted, the vehicles are shredded and the metal which is recovered from the process is taken for recycling. The remaining scrap which are neither useful nor can be recycled are just thrown away down a landfill to accumulate. Some percentage which is shredded cannot be recycled but are still useful since these contain metal in small scrap along with polymers and 5% residual metals. The more modern technologies become, the more metal can be extracted from the Used Auto Spares. Currently the industrial process can extract up to a maximum of 75 percent. It should be interesting to know that end of life vehicles alone are capable of returning about 15 million tonnes of steel every year to the industry and enable them to be used again to make new products.

Just like any form of recycling, vehicle recycling saves a lot or resources, energy and of course natural resources. The last is of course the most important since natural resources are not unlimited, and therefore are precious. The process of recycling is well known for being very complicated since there so many parts which have to be separated, graded and then recycled. Moreover the harmful parts have to be removed as well. After the Newcastle Recycled Auto Parts are extracted the engines are checked for leaks, after which the liquids inside are drained. Next, the potentially hazardous items such as a battery and acids are removed. When all of this is done, the car is crushed.
