Teens Want to Quit Smoking
Teenagers always want to fit in and although smoking isn't as 'cool' as it once was, it unfortunately is still prevalent today.
Instead of being angry with a teen for smoking, try to help them, because teens want to quit smoking, but they don't have the tools they need, to do so.
There are some negatives from smoking that you may want to share with a teen.
Some things to take note of are: * Smoking doesn't make you thin.
Look around, there are plenty of overweight smokers.
* Of course smokers have a much higher risk of getting lung cancer, emphysema and heart disease.
* Smokers get three times the cavities than non-smokers.
* Smoking stains your teeth, makes your hair and clothes smell and causes premature wrinkles.
* Smoking lowers your hormone levels.
* Nicotine gives you that really good feeling, but so do sports.
Have you heard of runners high? Why not try sports instead.
* Non-smokers do not want to kiss a smoker.
* Think of the money you will save by quitting.
* The majority of smoking teens believe they won't be smokers in five years, but the truth is approximately 80% will still be smoking.
The longer you put off quitting, the more difficult it becomes.
