Climate refers to the long-term changes in atmospheric conditions including temperature, rainfall, wind, humidity, pressure, and cloudiness.
Like a rock that slowly wears away beneath the pressure of a waterfall, our climate is almost imperceptibly changing.
Glaciers are getting smaller, droughts are lasting longer, and "extreme weather events" like fires, floods, and tornadoes are occurring with greater frequency.
Global climate change affects everyone we should highlight green and clean products and services that are both environmentally friendly and socially responsible our dependency on carbon based fuels has resulted in global warming which is becoming fatal for our health and safety.
There is a growing consensus about the reality of climate change.
Climate change we can combat by proper knowledge, education and new technology.
There are basic things we can all do like recycling and reusing so we have less of an impact on the environment and we can also strive to be more energy efficient at home by turning off lights when they are not needed, using more energy efficient appliances, using solar power to heat our homes, and turning off the heater/air conditioner when not really needed.
Planting trees is fun and a great way to reduce greenhouse gases.
Trees absorb carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, from the air.
Engineers, and scientific and social researchers should come together to look at how we can combat impact of climate change on a global scale, with potential focal points of water security, viable sources of renewable energy.
Engineers should research and develop products requiring less energy to operate, develop new technologies that generate clean power, reduce emissions of fossil fuel-based engines, and better understand the global ecosystem need green engineering which will environmental and economic benefits.
Technologies should be researched to bring low carbon or zero carbon product which will help in clean and green environment.
That is a social and environmental need.
Sources of energy could be used which do not emit carbon dioxide, e.
g.
wind power, solar (sun power) and wave power for new products.
There should be techniques to save energy of all energy-related products including products which do not consume energy during use but have an indirect impact on energy consumption.
For example, Water-saving taps and shower heads can reduce water consumption and therefore the energy used for hot water, and by consequence save resources and money.
Recyclable products are usually made out of things that already have been used.
It usually takes less energy to make recycled products than to make new ones.
The less energy we use, the better.
Conservation of natural resources by adopting strategies for reducing, reusing, recycling and applying engineering solutions we can combat climate changes.
