    Fellowship Hall

    • Many churches have a fellowship hall. This separate area often hosts church dinners and things of the sort. Transfer some of the church's sound equipment into this area and set it up for a comedy fundraiser. Remove the tables from the audience area and line up the chairs in several rows for the spectators to sit and watch. Designate an area at the front of the audience for the comedy performances.

    Gymnasium

    • If your church has a gymnasium, you can set up the comedy fundraiser there. Use the center court as a stage for the performers. You may need to set up sound equipment there as well, depending on the size of the gym. Designate an area of the bleachers for the audience to watch the performance. If your church does not have its own gymnasium, you may find a gym within your community that you can rent for the evening.

    Auditorium

    • Ask around your community at local theaters or schools. One of these places may allow you to use its auditorium for the evening. Many auditoriums already have a sound system in place. It will also take away the need to build your own stage or arrange for your own seating. Also, the curtains in an auditorium make transitioning from each portion of the program much easier.

    Home

    • One of the members of your congregation may have a large area of land with her home. Ask permission to hold your comedy fundraiser in her yard. This works best during the summer hours because it stays light longer. Bring sound equipment for the speakers, and have the audience bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. You could even have a barbecue beforehand as an additional part of the fundraiser.
