Shouldn"t Obama Fix the USPTO Before He Calls for More Innovation?

As the coordinator for a think tank, one thing that is a constant burden to inventors, innovators, and their investors is the cost, hassle, and bureaucracy of filing a patent.
It's amazing the time it takes, and the insanity of the paperwork.
The cost is not insignificant either, it can easily run 10s of thousands of dollars, and even after acquiring the patent, you can find yourself in litigation with a similarly issued patent from the past, present, or in the future.
And if that is not bad enough we have our foreign competitors scanning the filings constantly, copying, imitating, and then producing cheaper versions to compete in international markets ahead of our own time lines to bring the new innovation to market.
President Obama, your favorite person and mine (don't get too excited you commie, I was being facetious), wants to promote innovation, and tell all the inventors, innovators, small businesses, and corporations to look towards the future, and innovate and compete in the global economy.
Yes, I am all for that, not that I trust his political rhetoric or teleprompter readings after watching his actions and actual track record - but I agree we need to innovate.
But look what's in our way - the United States Patent and Trademark office.
The system is broken, and it's a bureaucracy of epic proportions now; Their databases have been hacked There is internal fraud, bribery, payoffs They are awarding nearly duplicate patents It takes so long to get a patent that the technology is often obsolete If President Obama really wanted to help small businesses, inventors, and entrepreneurs innovate, he could start with the USPTO, but alas, he doesn't know much about it, at least it appears that way.
You see, he's never run a business, never filed a patent, and to my knowledge he's never innovated much of anything, unless you call that bowel movement, ObamaCare, that he passed innovative? Look here is the deal, and enough about the Teleprompter Megalomaniac in Chief - American entrepreneurs, inventors, and innovators want to innovate, but the reward has been taken away, and far too many of us have been burned, our inventions stolen, or some foreign company copies us and runs away with our dream.
Yes, we love to innovate and invent, but what's the use - between the bureaucracy, intellectual property theft, patent litigation, barriers to entry in business, why bother? Seriously, Obama what on Earth are you thinking? We spend billions in R and D, only to have everything we invent provide jobs and opportunities overseas rewarding those who steal our inventions, patents and intellectual property.
That after we bust our balls working through the USPTO process, so please consider all this and think on it.
