Sugar: A Few Tips on How to Control Your Sugar Cravings, Lose Weight, and Feel Healthier
How often are you eating sugary snacks? For the record, sugar is literally everywhere and in a lot of foods you're probably unaware of. The thing to realize is that society today has a very large "Sugar Abuse" problem that needs to be fixed. Read more about it here if you like. Our prevalent sugar addiction should be considered a type of "Drug Addiction" and should be treated as so: lets see why…
If you are tying to decrease your sugar intake, first start by limiting your "Fake Food" consumption. This means NO unhealthy snacks! If you stick to REAL foods, you will be able to see a decrease in how much you are craving sugar. This means raw foods, plant based foods and uncooked selections. Eat like nature wants us to eat.
Also, if you really want to improve your health and waistline, start drastically cutting down your refined carbohydrate intake: no breads, pastas and/or rice. But be aware…if you do this (as you should be) you will have to increase how many vegetables you are eating.
People today are getting A LOT of their calories from refined carbs, if they're cut out of one's diet, something has to replace them: this is where the vegetables come in. There are many ways to start eating more veggies so get creative and enjoy them.
Another tip is to drink A LOT of water (always filtered…see why here); this will help keep you hydrated and control your appetite more efficiently; thus, your sugar craving may decrease. Controlling dehydration is a great way to control over-eating as well. If a person is eating when he/she is actually thirsty, negative health issues can definitely come into play. Stay hydrated to stay thin. No sodas, juice, and/or sugary drinks.
Another great tip is to eat fruit when you start having BIG sugar cravings. Versatile Health recommends this because a piece of fruit is obviously better than candy and/or ice cream: just don't eat it too much because fruit can have a lot of sugar in it as well. A lot of people are overdoing their fruits today…so be careful.
