A Basket For All Seasons
Life offers so many occasions and opportunities to show others how much they mean to us, or why we want to make their life events or special days even more memorable and terrific.
When thinking gifts, we all envision boxes and wrapping paper.
There is a great alternative - giving a basket filled to overflowing with items that the person whose special day it is can use, and enjoy immediately.
But the great point is that baskets have a life of their own after all the gifts are removed and the day is over.
Baskets can be used in literally every room in the house.
From bathroom - filled with soaps, and towels, to bed- rooms, housing toys and trinkets to cosmetics and pocket change, and even on the patio - gathering flowers or veggies just picked and sparkling with dew.
When you give a basket you are giving not only a gift but "gifts.
"To a sportsperson - tearm memorabilia, tickets to events, car decals or equipment such as fishing lures, golf tees and even a bowling ball if your basket is large enough - be careful how you hand that one to the person.
To a graduate there can be amusement park admissions, diary books, colorful pens and desk accessories, and even photo albums and old- fashioned autograph books.
To a little child - of course the toys, but items for their room, starting them on a new hobby or adventure, and keepsake treasures to slip under the bed in a special box or placed under the pillow for sweet dreams.
Whatever the occasion, whoever the person, a basket is truly a great way to make a gift last a very long time.
Each time they use your "container" gift for whatever use they find, you will be the man/ woman of the hour, the remembrance will be rekindled, and well, your reputation as being creative and innovative just got pushed up some notches.
You thought of the most thoughtful way to give - you went out of your way to fill the basket with items of pleasure and it was given so that the true meaning of "precious little " brought joy and even laughter and fun.
When you think gifts for any occasion or special date, baskets have been around for a very long time, are a terrific house accessory after the fact, and well, their holding capacity of goodies just depends on their size and shape.
It's all right there - fun, and great way to celebrate.
