How to Make a Dance Floor Slick
- 1). Purchase a dance floor wax online, from your local dance supply store or from the manufacturer of your flooring. Alternatively, you can contact a hard wood flooring store to see whether they may have dance wax in stock. Prices range from $5.95 to $9.99 depending on the product and if ordered by mail can include a shipping and handling fee.
- 2). Test a small area of the floor by sprinkling the wax, lightly and sparingly over the test area. Check to make sure there is no clumping or that the wax does not clog grain in the dance floor causing build-up. If there is no clumping or build-up, you are ready to treat your floor. On the chance you think the product is clumping, call the manufacturer to ask for directions on how to remove the wax.
- 3). Sprinkle the wax sparingly over a large area of the dance floor. Using your push broom, brush the wax over the entire dance floor, sweeping off any excess wax. Check your dance floor periodically to avoid wax build-up.
