Tools are unpredictable.
No matter how careful you are, time will come when an accident will take place.

Plyers may look harmless but that does not change the fact that it is still a tool and you have to be cautious whenever you are using it.
It may sound unfamiliar but there are certain safety tips that you have to remember when using plyers.

1. Do no remove the grip on all plyer handles.
   These grips are designed to keep your hands in palce whenever you are using the tool.
   It is usually made from PVC.
   In addition to that, the grip provides cushion and comfort.
   
2. Do not cut hardened wires using this tool.
   Unless it is specifically designed to do so, then do not even try it.
   
3. Conventional grips do not provide any degree of protection against electrocution or electric shock thus avoid using your plyers in live wires.
   The only time you can use this tool on live wire is when it has insulated handles and when it is designed to be used in such circumstance.
   
4. As much as possible use safety goggles.
   This will help protect your eyes from flying debris.
   
5. Always remember to use the right kind and size.
   Needle nose pliers are not ideal for cutting or bending thick wires and the same thing goes for larger plyers and thin wires.
   
6. Do not use this tool as a substitute for wrenches.
   
7. Regularly check your tool for signs of wear and tear.
   When it needs replacement then do so.
   Using a damaged tool can be dangerous.
