    Bible Reading

    • One sure way to build your faith and help you seek God is to read the Bible regularly. There are many promises in the Bible about seeking God. Deuteronomy 4:29 says, "From there you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for Him with all your heart and soul, you will find Him." You should claim this promise for yourself and begin your search with daily Bible readings. Choose a Bible translation that is not difficult to understand, like the New International Version. Find a quiet spot somewhere in your home that is comfortable and has ample lighting. Visit that spot every day as close to the same time as possible. Establish a regular time to seek God through reading more about Him.

    Prayer

    • Prayer is a wonderful way to seek God. Carve out some prayer time in your schedule. Prayer is simply talking to God. Some different types of prayer are prayers of repentance and humility; thankful prayers; and words of worship. Praying can be quiet and peaceful or loud and boisterous. Seek God while praying and walking in your neighborhood or in your backyard. You could pray while getting ready for work in the morning or last thing at night before you slip into bed. Open the lines of communication with God by praying to Him. It's an effective way to seek Him.

    Meditation

    • Seek God by meditating on Him. Think about a recent scripture you've read or worship song you've heard recently. While prayer is talking to God, meditation is listening to God. Spending time looking at nature will help you to seek God. A beautiful sky, a roaring ocean, and flowers and trees are all sights and sounds that will help you seek God. Meditation is a relaxed anticipation that you will find God if you keep seeking Him. You might listen to some instrumental music or some relaxation recordings to help you focus and carry you above your immediate cares and worries.
