How to Draw a Girl in a Bathing Suit
- 1). Draw an oval in the top center of your paper. This serves as the head of your girl and the starting point for your drawing. Draw the head sized appropriately, meaning you don't make it overly large and not leave enough room for body of your subject. Draw a line down from the bottom of the oval that serves as the "spine," so draw it curved however you want your girl to be posed, which will dictate the position of the limbs. The spine should be about three times the length of the head.
- 2). Draw a sideways oval at the end of the spine opposite the head to draw the pelvis, the attachment point for the legs. Draw two parallel lines jutting down from the bottom of the oval to make the legs, which should be longer than the spine. Draw a small horizontal line half a head length away from the head to make the shoulders and draw two more lines on each side of the shoulders to make the arms. You should now have the basic "skeleton."
- 3). Add thin and shapely elongated ovals over the limb lines as well as the torso and neck to flesh out your figure and make it more in line with the female form. Erase the spine, pelvis and limb lines. Begin adding small details to the figure like hair, lips, eyes and ears to the figure's head; you can always "cheat" if you find drawing the eyes difficult by drawing her wearing sunglasses.
- 4). Draw the bathing suit over your figure by drawing two small straps to drop from the neckline and stop about a quarter ways down the torso. Draw the breasts as desired, but remember they're covered underneath the suit, so draw a small vertical line up from the neckline on the suit to indicate cleavage. Erase any errant lines you made and trace your final figure drawing in black ink to make her stand out on the page.
