TOKYOPOP Announces Winners From Manga Contest
As a previous finalist signs a book deal, TOKYOPOP announces ten winners from its 4th Annual Rising Stars of Manga contest.
Michael Vega was a finalist in a previous TOKYOPOP manga contest and has just been signed to a book deal based on a new project called Dark Moon Diary. This is the fifth series to be published in conjunction with TOKYOPOP's annual manga talent search. Due to debute in 2005, Vega and author Che Gilson are have nothing but exciting challenges ahead of them.
And as Vega begins what is sure to be a promising career, TOKYOPOP announced ten winners from its recent 4th annual manga contest.
Andy Helms, 25, took first place with his submission, "Bombos Versus Everything". Helms won a $2,500 cash prize and the opportunity to pitch his full-length manga to TOKYOPOP's execs. Dave Iseri, 21 took second place and will receive $1,500 and a trophy for his work, "Down."
