Many new couples can't afford an expensive Caribbean cruise for their honeymoon.  A pricey all inclusive honeymoon package may not be within your means.  But that certainly doesn't mean your vacation can't still be romantic and lots of fun!

Hostels are great option for lodging during your trip.  Some people think of hostels as merely a dormitory style room with bunk beds, community bathrooms and lots of college students; far from the Four Seasons hotel.  But, fortunately many hostels offer private rooms with their own bathrooms.  As you plan this vacation, make sure you talk to the hostel staff about the accommodations they offer.  These types of hostels have a little higher price than the traditional type, but they are still cheaper than most hotels.

Couples can travel to Europe, Canada, or even just stay in the U.S.  You can find tons of hostels throughout Europe.  If you and your new husband or wife have always wanted go on a European tour, staying in multiple hostels may be a great choice for you two.  The primary expenses involved in this honeymoon vacation are transportation, food, lodging, and passports (depending on where you decide to go).  If your destination is outside the U.S., a hostel will likely be closer to your budget than a fancy foreign hotel.

Staying in a private-room hostel can be just as romantic as any 4-star lodging.  The most important part of your honeymoon is the time that you spend together!  Many couples are so busy with sightseeing and other activities during the day, that the time spent in your room is minimal.  Why not stay in a hostel and give your wallet a break?
