So you've taken on a new home based business.... and you're not getting the results you were expecting after the first few weeks.  Is it the company you've partnered up with or is it YOU?

I decided to write this article because it is so common in most home based businesses for people to quit in their first 3 months and just give up without trying to make it work.  And the sad thing is, they blame the company.

Personally I think the reason for this is typically, people expect after starting a new home business that it's is going to be a free ride to financial freedom and that it should take about a month or two to make it all happen. 

They get a bit of a shock when after a few weeks they head out and start talking to friends and family and find that it's not going to happen as quickly and easily as they expected.

A home based business is not a get quick rich scheme, it's a business, no different to any other business.  Every business takes time to build and it doesn't matter what industry you're in.  It's common knowledge that any home based business really struggles in their first year and are lucky to make it through their first 3 years.

So why is it that people think that their new home business is going to take off in the first 3 months?  Don't get me wrong, some people do make that happen, but it's not an everyday thing.

The direct problem lies within you, possibly you're up-line and how you market your business.  Chances are you are not being trained in your home based business in the most effective way to see the results you need.  The main reason  97% of home based businesses  fail in the first 3 months is because of the lack of training on how to market your business.  That's all!  It's certainly not the company.  Most companies have  proven track records and even give you a 100 day guarantee because they know it's possible to be successful in their company. After all they have 6 and 7 figure income earners proving it.

So, how do you find the marketing resources and training you need for your home based business?  Hopefully from your mentor.  But, if you're current Mentor doesn't know how to market online and offline, then you need to find someone in your up line who does. 

These few simple steps should help you to survive your first 3 months:

• There are successful people in your company who are making it work.  Study them.  Find out what they are doing and then copy exactly what they are doing.
• Be passionate about your business.  I can't express enough, how important this is.  If you are not passionate about your home business, you can't expect others to be passionate!  You're vibes will pass on to your down-line so you need to love the company you are representing.
• Set yourself realistic goals and surround yourself with people who can help you reach those goals.
• Work at your business every day, don't put off until tomorrow because tomorrow never comes...

Whatever the reason you started your home based business, your WHY, focus on that each day and remember that this is a business just like any other.  Set yourself a plan and work at it for at least 12  months.  How will you ever know if your success is just be around the corner if you give up?

Educate yourself about Marketing and find a system that works, that's going to be your vehicle to get you to where you need to go.
