I know it may sound like a stretch at first glance, but just because the truth flies in the face of what you may have heard or come to believe, marijuana is health food. I smoke pot for health, and I know alot of other healthy, productive people who do the same. While most people have cannabis mentally categorized as a drug and an unhealthy substance, the truth is almost exactly the opposite. The sooner more people come to know the truth, the sooner they can alleviate all kinds of suffering in their fellow citizens.

First of all, Weed is Food. Incredible foods are those that people can live healthy lives by consuming, with little else. Cannabis seeds are one of very few of such foods on Earth. The soybean is another. Soybeans have been the primary protein source for millions (billions?) of poor people throughout Asia for many years. They live long healthy vegetarian lives. Marijuana seeds are every bit as nutritious as soybeans, and no, there is no trace of THC in seeds. THC is the main component of reefer that makes one "high". Therefore, pot seeds are amazing nutrition without any of the mind altering side effects.

Second, marijuana oil has been found to be extremely concentrated with beta-carophyllene. This vitamin pre-cursor, similar to beta-carotene, found in carrots, has been shown to have stunning anti-inflammatory effects. This substance is already in our food supply, used largely in the production of various spices. Inflammation has been indicted as the cause of several large groups of diseases from minor muscle pulls to cardiovascular disease, stroke, Alzheimer's Disease, and the list goes on and on.

Next, marijuana has so many medical uses that taking it on a prophylactic schedule, to prevent problems looks more and more appropriate the more you learn. For example, did you know that cannabis has been shown to be a very effective antibiotic? Not only will it protect any scrape or cut from infection better than Neosporin or Bacitracin, it's also been shown to be effective against the "antibiotic resistant" MRSA flesh eating bacteria superbug. In fact there are many accounts of smoking pot actually shrinking mrsa infections. Usually cannabis must be applied topically to be effective against mrsa, but amazingly, just smoking it has been helpful to many.

There are reams of studies that have been done in universities around the world that show that marijuana is effective in fighting cancer. All kinds of cancer, including breast, lung, prostate, even brain tumors are susceptible. Of course there can be no human trials on an illegal substance, but the research clearly shows that such research is long overdue.

Finally, there seems to be many potential applications in the field of psychiatry. Marijuana is a strong mood balancer. It can snap a patient out of a compulsive state in a matter of minutes. It can help those suffering from PTSD to at least temporarily forget their trauma or tragedy, allowing them to the space to enjoy life, if only a little, making their affliction that much easier to deal with. Several parents are using marijuana in food to help their autistic children calm down when they get over-excited.

Last, but certainly not least, did you know that marijuana cream is an amazing wrinkle remover. I can't tell you how or why, but it works. I have no crow's feet on my face ever since I started using the medicated cream as an after shave lotion.

As you can see, there are many reasons why we need to reexamine and rethink what we think we know about marijuana. I also know that weed isn't right for everyone. Some people have allergic or anxiety related issues that prevent them from using THC, but most medical and health benefits are not derived from the THC. I smoke pot for health>, and my health is better for doing so. I can't help but think that there are millions of others out there who could be getting the same benefits I do.

Won't you pass this article along to someone who thinks cannabis is poison. I will readily concede that tobacco and alcohol are poisonous, but look it up for yourself, smoke pot for health>, and you'll be glad you did.
