How to Convert WMAs to AVIs
- 1). Download the Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate software by visiting the Xilisoft website. Once you've downloaded the appropriate files, install the software by clicking on the installation icon on your desktop. The installation takes just a few minutes. When you've successfully installed the software, open it by clicking the Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate icon on your desktop.
- 2). Click the "Add File" button in the program window and select the WMA file you want to convert to AVI format. Alternatively, you can click "File" from the top toolbar, click "Add File" and select the file you want to convert. Next, set the output format. Click the arrow button in the profile field. Choose "AVI" from the drop-down menu. In addition, choose the audio (and video, if you're using other formats) quality you desire within the profile field.
- 3). Click the arrow button in the destination field and select the destination folder for your new AVI file. If you do not know where you would like the new file to be stored, leave the destination field as-is; the new file will be stored in the same folder as the original WMA file.
- 4). Click the "Convert" button in the main toolbar to begin the conversion. The button features an icon that shows a piece of film in the background with a green arrow that points to the right in the foreground. The conversion can take a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the file's size and the video/audio quality level you selected. An elapsed-time bar will display, estimating the total amount of time the conversion will take. When it is finished, the program will notify you.
- 5). Open the AVI file by navigating to the folder where you saved it. You can burn the file to a DVD by opening your DVD burning software and inserting a blank DVD into your DVD drive.
