How to Sell Products From Your Blog - Two Top Tips for Monetizing Your Blog
In this article we are going to discuss how to sell products from your blog.
The truth of the matter is this:Most blogs don't make ANY money.
Nothing.
Zilch, zero, Nathan.
If you are someone who simply enjoys sharing your thoughts with the collective consciousness of the blogosphere, and this is your purpose for blogging...
well, this article is NOT for you.
If however, you are someone who wants and NEEDS to make more money and you want to blog to do it, read on as I'll share two of my top tips.
Do it with Data Feeds! I've covered this before, and lots of people have written for more clarification.
Simply stated, you pick a vertical niche, several vendors who market in this niche, and make your blog a compendium of original content, news feeds, etc as usual...
BUT, you also pull the RSS feed for a catalog that offers lots of products that serve this market.
Most of the vendors in the major markets open their feed up to your affiliate clearinghouse ( CJ, Linkshare, et al) and you are going to apply for the program, and then request the feed.
Wordpress will do this for you phenomenally well..
you need a FEW plugins, and a couple minor tweaks, and you are OFF to the races in rapid fire turn around time.
Easy money on autopilot.
(especially because you can future date the posts for weeks, months and even years to come..
;-) The fortune really IS in the list If you aren't yet ready for creating an avalanche of affiliate sales through data feeds, why not start offering some products visa VIyour opt in sequence? It always amazes me how few "bloggers" are incorporating direct response marketing into the mix - they will prominently display their feed count numbers, but most don't have a REAL email sign up form anywhere in sight.
How many blogs have YOU visited once...
loved the content, and simply forgot about over time as real life intervened?(or newer blogs occupied your mind space) I know I have forgotten about FAR more good ones than I can even remember...
but lots of MEDIOCRE ones I visit regularly.
Why?It's quite simple.
They email me offers.
I signed up once...
and they keep the party going by staying in touch.
This my friends is marketing.
And why most bloggers don't...
and still have day jobs, where lots of inferior minds are sipping margaritas by the pool..
:-)
