Going back to school isn't just for the kids, parents can get involved too! Fall is a great time to get some new ideas and techniques for family management. Check out what Columbus has to offer.

1. Problem-Solving Parenting

From the website:Problem-Solving Parenting is a 6-week research-based course that teaches parents how to be the parents they need and want to be. As a participant you will gain:
Insight into your child’s development and how it impacts behavior;
More positive ways to consider and address parenting challenges;
New tools to make your life run more smoothly;
How to make decisions that make the best sense for your whole family.

The class meets every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for six weeks. Class dates are 9/18, 9/25, 10/2, 10/9, 10/16 and 10/23.

Refreshments will be provided. Childcare is not available.

2. Canines, Babies and Toddlers

From the website: This class will instruct expectant parents on how to prepare their dog for their new baby. Topics: obedience, socialization, canine body language, actions to avoid, toddler / dog interactions. Please do not bring any pets to this class.

As a girl becomes a woman, it’s a special time. This program helps fourth-, fifth- and sixth grade girls and their mothers face puberty issues positively and with understanding.

4. Community Refugee & Immigration Services (CRIS)

5. Father 2 Father

From the website:This program helps men 16 to 35 become nurturing fathers and develop strong self-sufficient skills by increasing their parenting and life skills and strengthening their employment potential. 6. Jewish Family Services (JFS)

From the website:Offers a family-based program for parents of children up to age 5, and a Help Me Grow program for parents who are pregnant or parents who have children less than age 3 and are having problems with their development. Counselors meet with parents in the home and office.
