    • 1). Attach the tuner to the guitar. Turn on the power. Check the battery by plucking a string. The display should show the note played by displaying the note struck (E, for example). Replace the battery if nothing registers.

    • 2). Start with the thickest, or sixth, string. Tune this string to E. Pluck the string. Look at the tuner display. The pitch of the note will appear. Turn the tuning peg for that string while plucking the string until the E appears on the display. Turn the peg to the left to raise the pitch, to the right to lower the pitch.

    • 3). Tune the fifth string to the A. Pluck this string. Look at the tuner display. The pitch of the note will appear again. Turn the tuning peg for that string while plucking the string until the A appears.

    • 4). Check the fourth string. Tune to D using the same steps with the tuner.

    • 5). Adjust the third string to G.

    • 6). Tune the second string to B.

    • 7). Finish by tuning the thinnest string, the high E, with the same steps used for the other strings.
