How to Spray Paint a Snowboard
- 1). Using a coarse sponge, clean the snowboard with wax remover. Rinse the board with wet rags, and wait two to four hours for the snowboard to dry.
- 2). Abrade the snowboard to promote adhesion. Scour the snowboard with 220-grit sandpaper until it feels slightly rough to your fingertips.
- 3). Wipe down the snowboard with sticky tack cloths.
- 4). Cover portions of the snowboard you do not want painted with professional painter's tape. Place the snowboard on a heavy-duty fabric dropcloth.
- 5). Coat the abraded snowboard with acrylic spray primer. Maintain a distance of 8 inches between the snowboard and the spray nozzle as you apply. Wait three hours for the primer to dry.
- 6). Coat the primed snowboard with acrylic spray enamel. Maintain an 8-inch distance between the snowboard and the spray nozzle as you apply. Wait four hours for the paint to dry.
- 7). Coat the painted snowboard with a spray lacquer clear coat. Maintain a distance of 8 inches between the snowboard and the spray nozzle as you apply. Wait six hours before using the snowboard.
