Finding The Best Psychological Treatment For Your Worst Anxiety - Part 10
Welcome again to my series Finding the best treatment for your worst anxiety.
In the previous articles I showed you that by knowing some of the keywords used by psychological paradigms, you can map the text and uncover its hidden motive.
By knowing the network of terms spoke by some paradigm you can touch the paradigm even without be an expert.
Our next step is to cross the paradigm, and the reason for doing this is not to be able to throw its ingredients away, on the contrary, we are doing this so we can use paradigm's ingredients more productively.
For this specific article I want to repeat something I already said before: If you are in an emergency state and you need expert advice, stop reading articles including this one, stop searching the net for solutions, take the Yellow Pages and make a phone to some expert! After turning off your emergency lights, you can go back and listen to more advices from me or from others.
Crossing the paradigm is not a pleasant task to do since it can put you in conflict and doubt with some of your more rooted believes and values.
As you may already noted there is a strong relationship between cultural values and psychological paradigms.
To cross the paradigm, some of the values will have to be crossed...
That's the way it is and you may not agree with me at any moment.
My advice though is give it a second chance.
Here are few points to think about - I will not extend about those issues in this article.
Some of the things I already said on previous articles.
On some other things I will extend in the future.
The myth of self-help You are not alone in this world! Your mental life 'was' and 'will' be shape by your interaction with others.
The "other" is insuperable part of your mental life - including your anxiety.
There is no such thing self-help, when considering psychological treatment.
Your "self" is already divided and split.
You "self" include the "other", So someway or another, this "other" must take some part in the treatment.
It doesn't mean that programs that offer you to work alone in your home are worthless.
This is not the point.
It means that you have to distinguish between working by yourself, and "doing this alone".
What I am trying to say is that "Me alone" does not exist.
There is always someone else at some angle with corresponding to your position in the world.
Whatever approach you will choose you will have to strive to break this illusion of "me alone".
While symptoms can be controlled, the suffer will not be solved if you will not break your shell for letting the streams of "other", flow through you safely.
The true change is the change in your relationship with the other.
The myth of - "You pull the strings" Relief and calmness are not achieved by having more control! they are achieved by "let it go" and "let it be".
Struggling to control our mental life is exhausting task.
You will never win in this because your mental capabilities are far beyond what you can grasp.
Don't make a science of yourself, instead let the science help you.
Learning to control your symptoms in various situations, such as preventing anxiety attack, is a tactic move but not the strategy.
The strategy is to learn to accept the multiplicity.
To learn to accept the ignorance as the root that let you strive for more knowledge.
Learn to accept this fact - you and the entire humanity are only a small part of the world.
Self-control is essential tool, but not the purpose.
Learn to drive your ambition by creative power and not by self control.
The myth of - "Knowledge equals Cure" Knowing the theory will not help you to be cure.
Knowing how your brain function can help you control some aspects of your anxiety.
This is not where the cure is.
If you insist then call it the cure but I am sure that after solving your panic attacks which can be achieved by knowledge, something else will remain.
By solving the symptom you just starting your journey.
Your journey is not toward the "thing" you are looking for but toward the "linking" between many "things" that compose your reality.
Crossing the paradigm, means crossing the knowledge toward the gravities applied between knowledge's ingredients one on another.
Flying in the fields of the difference.
The misconception - "If it is good for someone else also good for me" Who says that? Evidence of someone else's success is evidence of someone else's success.
That right, you can't conclude from objective evidence toward your subjective problem.
The fact that some statistic exist for some psychological phenomenon does not put you immediately in the middle of Gaussian graph.
The myth of - "Healthy equals Happy" The myth of chasing compulsively for "happiness" is one of the disasters that make many of the modern persons miserable.
I am not say that it is bad to be happy.
What I am saying is that each of us us some temper that contains dosage of the emotion we describe with the term happy.
Each of us has its own temper and solving our anxiety will not change this temper.
Some people can be happy and suffer from anxiety attacks and some are not happy and never had anxiety attack.
Don't buy the message that promises you "happiness" if you just solve this or that mental problem.
See those that feel grate with themselves - they are not chasing for happy! They just live their life.
Here is a brutal metaphor of your mental life - think of your mental life like the sewage pipe at your home.
If you will not clean the pipe once in a while it will plugged, and all the garbage will be flooded up.
So here is another kind of happiness which is not measured by comfort or smiling or feeling good, or anything of that.
To be happy make sure to find some "solution" in your life that let you clean your mental pipe once in a while.
The purpose of the journey is to find your own solution.
While this may not be pleasurable journey, it will be the most impotent you can take, as an adult person.
The postulate of "Time equals Money" with relation to psychological treatment Your mind is not a business that need to generate revenues! It is neither a furniture you bought on IKEA that needs to function! Give your mentality some more respect! When considering someone's mental life and starting some program take your time.
This is not an instant pudding you prepare.
This is a journey, and journey has its own rhythm.
Ups and Down are part of the way.
This is not about results this is about a change.
And change my friend, is craving for 'time' and not for result-oriented approach.
One day I will right an article about this: "You are your time!".
What you call 'I' and "me"' is the way you draw the heterogeneous continuity on the 'space'.
Anyway, give yourself some respect by taking the 'time' to make a change.
Crossing the paradigm Paradigms are there to play with.
You are not the subject of the paradigms anymore.
You can go out and get in.
you can switch between, jumping from one to another.
Take some gravity from here and put it there.
Band the space-time of a paradigm.
Now think, what if you could do the same with your mental state? What if you could cross your schemes? Restructure your structures? What if you could stop being the subject of the other? What if you could start create instead of being closed in an endless circle of fears? You are the only one to answer those questions...
All words have been said but so much left to be saying.
So until the next article, have a good luck in your search for the best treatment for your worst anxiety and I hope I helped you a bit.
New networks are now being created in your mind.
Take some time and let the confusion work.
Any change in your life requires elaboration in your mind.
When you have the feeling that some insight emerged, go again to my website and check the reviews there.
You will see that things are not as before.
